Reem Acra Fall 2015 collection inspired by Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks is the Energizer Bunny of fashion references. She keeps going and going and going. Reem Acra found herself inspired by Nicks’ 24-Karat Gold exhibition last fall of digitally reprinted self-portrait Polaroids from the Seventies. The photos evoked a particular time when retooling the Victorian aesthetic was rampant.
The designer began the season by referencing Stevie Nicks’ Polaroid self-portraits from the mid-’70s. “They’re unbelievable,” Acra said backstage before the show, eyes glimmering with inspiration. “[Nicks] is a woman that I relate to. When I started putting things together, it came easy. I didn’t have to think about it too much.”
I want all these!
We will all have a velvet underground moment some time in our lives. Follow your dreams, no matter how young or old you are.
